God is asking me to give away all that I own - everything.

Like many people who devote their lives to faith, I am now old enough (59) and spiritually mature enough to admit, I am a grevious and horrific sinner.

While thank God not pedophilia, I have had a 30 year battle with an addiction that routinely strips me of everything I have and makes me virtually incapable of consistently being of service to others, and to God.

Imagine if you will, a severe allergy to money.  One that literally makes you a drooling, non-functional person for weeks at a time.

Yet, you still lead an enthusiastic congregation, and do God's work every moment when able.

I am feeling compelled, nay called to literally give away every thing I have.   To forsake property or money except to work for food and shelter.

To own no more than Gandhi, a few pieces of cloth, a writing instrument, simple footwear, glasses.

A small spinning wheel which is a wooden box, as he chose to weave the cloth he owned.

I am feeling compelled to simply give everything I own away except the identification and communication I need to interact with the world on behalf of God's compassionate presence in my life.
